Long Island "real person" Josephine Pisano was cheered Wednesday by fans of the Live with Regis television show, many of whom urged the producers to keep her on as a permanent replacement for Kathie Lee Gifford.

Today's (Thursday) New York Daily News printed numerous quotes from audience members, including: "Omigod, she's hilarious! She's over-the-top" and "I think she's stealing the show" and "The show needs someone like her. She's a natural." Philbin himself said of the 69-year-old Pisano: "She is uninhibited, not afraid, and confident. A star is born right here."
