Lonely Kidman

Nicole Kidman admits she has experienced "deep loneliness" since splitting from husband Tom Cruise.

But the screen beauty believes, although single life is a struggle, she feels stronger knowing she can survive by herself.

She explained: "There's a lot to be said for being able to be on your own. The ability to be alone then gives you the ability to actually be with someone.

"
I've known so many people who just jump from relationship to relationship but ultimately at some stage you're going to be alone - whether it's when you die, your partner dies, or if your marriage falls apart.

"That sounds bleak. And it is. There are moments of deep loneliness."

However, Nicole says the single life does have its advantages, which include pigging out on junk food and having the privacy of your own bathroom.

She added in an interview with Britain's Glamour magazine: "You don't have to share your bathroom with anyone. You can come home and sit in front of the TV and eat ice cream and not have to explain yourself. But there's a lack of intimacy that you sometimes crave."
