Date set for Toy Story 3 release

Disney says it plans to release Toy Story 3 in the summer of 2008.

The third installment of the animated franchise will be the first produced by Disney without Pixar, the company which originated the tale of the boys' toys that have lives and adventures of their own, reports Variety.

Toy Story 2 featuring the voices of Tom Hanks as Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear grossed £265 million worldwide when it was released in 1999 and the first installment in the franchise, Toy Story, grossed £195 million worldwide in 1995.
