Tom Cruise hopes it will be third time lucky - as a husband.

At 42, the Hollywood superstar says he is on the lookout for wife No3.

Cruise's first foray in wedlock to actress Mimi Rogers ended in divorce and he married Nicole Kidman.

One of Tinseltown's top pairings were divorced after 10 years.

Cruise began seeing Penélope Cruz but their relationship ended at the beginning of the year.

"I will never be down with love. Ever. I'm the guy who loves relationships. I love women. I'm the guy who's going to get married again. I'm not going to give up on that. I really love that kind of friendship and intimacy," he told the Daily Mirror.

"I know I'll get married again one day. I know I'll meet someone sometime and I'll have another go at it."

The star has his an identikit image of a likely candidate: "She has to have a great sense of humour and not mind having a little adventure in her life," he said.

"I like riding motorcycles and flying aeroplanes and I want someone who's going to enjoy doing the things I enjoy."

Referring to his past, the actor said: "The relationships I've had, I've found very fulfilling. I've learned and I've grown from them and I have no regrets. It's a great time in my life."

Cruise's latest film, Collateral, is released in the UK next month.
