Morgan Freeman is to star in a film about the first all-black tank regiment to see action in World War Two.

Comingsoon says the untitled Dreamworks project will centre on the 761st Tank Battalion, which arrived in France in November 1944.

They spent the rest of the war on the front, and were instrumental in the Battle of the Bulge.

But they did not receive a Presidential Unit Citation until 1978, 33 years after the end of the war.
