Actress Meg Ryan has denied having an affair with actor John Cusack.

She told Germany's Fuer Sie magazine the only man she's living with at present is her son Jack.

And she says she has learned the hard way to keep quiet about her love life.

She said: "Just think of my divorce from Dennis Quaid - my goodness! I wasn't prepared for all the public attention and made lots of mistakes.

"Today, I would simply keep my mouth shut."

Ryan also says her public image is miles from the person she really is. "I come across as girlish and naive, but I'm a grown-up woman with a mind of my own", she said.
