Star Wars: Episode III will be released on May 19, 2005 in North America - and UK fans should not have much longer to wait.

Lucasfilm has announced it is aiming for a near-simultaneous release around the world.

The only exception is expected to be Japan where Star Wars premieres have traditionally been held in July.

Episode III completes the six film series and will tell the story of how Anakin Skywalker becomes Darth Vadar.
