Golden Globe nominations revealed


Cold Mountain (2003) will compete against Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King (2003) for the Golden Globes best picture award.

The two have been nominated for the top prize, alongside Master and Commander (2003), Mystic River (2003) and Seabiscuit (2003).

Jude Law's role in Cold Mountain won him a best actor nomination, along with Russell Crowe for Master and Commander, Sean Penn for Mystic River and Tom Cruise for Last Samurai, The (2003).

Albert Finney is among those in the best supporting actor race for his performance in Big Fish (2003).

Nicole Kidman's role as a prim Southerner in Cold Mountain (2003) earned her a best actress nomination, along with Uma Thurman for Kill Bill: Volume 1 (2003), Evan Rachel Wood for Thirteen (2003), Cate Blanchett for Veronica Guerin (2002) and Scarlett Johansson for Girl With a Pearl Earring.

Supporting actress nominees include Renée Zellweger for Cold Mountain and Hope Davis for American Splendor.

Ricky Gervais is going head to head against Matt LeBlanc in the best actor in a Musical or Comedy Series category for their individual performances in The Office and Friends.
