Horror role for Sarah Michelle Gellar
Sarah Michelle Gellar is to star in a remake of a Japanese horror film.
The Grudge is an English-language version of the Japanese thriller Ju-On, says Hollywood Reporter.
The project is being directed by the original's writer-director, Takashi Shimizu, from a script by Stephen Susco.
Gellar, best known for her starring role in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, next appears in the upcoming Scooby-Doo sequel.
