Lara Croft fails to top UK box office


Lara Croft has failed to top the UK box office with the Tomb Raider sequel.

Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life took £1.5m in its first three days, only enough to enter the box office chart at number three.

It landed behind American Pie 3, which spent its second week at number one, with Johnny Depp's Pirates of the Caribbean in second place.

Terminator 3 made it into the charts at number four taking £790,000 and Freddy Vs Jason was fifth taking £440,000.

Among the other new entries, Confidence, starring Dustin Hoffman, was at seven, while Billy Connolly's The Man Who Sued God entered at number nine.
