Keanu Reeves is planning to give away £50 million in profits from the two Matrix sequels.
The actor will donate most of his pay to effects and costume designers who worked on the movies.
He has negotiated a contract which gives him 15% of box office takings for The Matrix Reloaded and its follow-up The Matrix Revolutions.
The two films are expected to pull in about £450 million worldwide - netting Reeves nearly £70 million.
He said: "Money is the last thing I think about. I could live on what I've already made for the next few centuries."
Keanu, who doesn't own a home and lives in hotels, is well-known for his generosity.
While filming the sequels in Australia, he surprised 12 stuntmen by giving them Harley-Davidson motorbikes.
