Fox To Be Sole Post-Season BaseBall Broadcaster.

The Fox TV Network and Major League Baseball are expected to confirm today (Wednesday) that they have agreed on a $2.5-billion package that would give Fox exclusive rights to carry post-season games over the next six seasons.

Analysts shook their heads over the price. Bloomberg News quoted Rich Burton, head of the University of Oregon's Warsaw Sports Marketing Center, as saying, "On the surface, it looks like they've overpaid dearly. ... They're doing this at a time when viability of sports on network television seems kind of shaky."
