Michael Douglas has splashed out on an advert in film magazine Variety to congratulate Catherine Zeta Jones for working hard on Chicago: The Musical (2002).
The ad appears in the run up to the Oscars in which Catherine is nominated for best supporting actress, it cost Michael £12,000 ($19,000).
It reads: "Dear Catherine/Mom, we know how hard you worked and we know what a joy it turned out to be. We love you, Michael and Dylan."
At the BAFTA's Michael said, "I saw how much effort Catherine put into Chicago. She was black and blue and sore after a day on set. Making a musical is like making three films in one go."
