Bill Paxton is reportedly in negotiations to star in the film version of 1960s cult TV show Thunderbirds.

His character is a billionaire former astronaut who is the patriarch of the family and leads the Thunderbirds during their missions to save the world.

He has a little help from Lady Penelope, played by Sophia Myles.

Shooting on the new movie will begin on location in the Seychelles this March, with additional studio work at London's Pinewood Studios.

Paxton has starred films such as Apollo 13 (1995), Twister (1996), Titanic (1997) and Simple Plan, A (1998).
