Spielberg confirms Connery will be back for Indiana Jones IV

Steven Spielberg confirms Sean Connery will have a part in the new Indiana Jones film.

He says Connery will reprise his role as Indy's father "for a few scenes".

Spielberg says he's trying to get all of Indy's former love interests into the film as well.

He says he hopes to get Karen Allen, who played Marion in Raiders Of The Lost Ark, back for "one soundbite".

"There are other Indy girls who had smaller roles who will come back," he tells www.suntimes.com.

Spielberg is less sure his real-life wife, Kate Capshaw, will get to reprise her role as Willie Scott from Temple Of Doom.

"Frank Darabont, who is writing the script, called me and said, 'I'm not sure we can work her into the script too'".

Filming is due to begin in 2004.
