The studio behind blockbusters such as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) have decided to make some of its films available for download over the internet.
Warner Brothers will put selected titles on the website CinemaNow. This is the first time that Warner has offered its films for download and it looks as if it is a trial for a few months.
Even on high speed connections however, at 700MB films can take hours to download. CinemaNow uses anti-piracy technology, which is supplied by Microsoft, to lock the files which expire after 24 hours unless the licence is renewed.
