Adam Sandler looks set to star in a remake of the Argentinian film The Son Of The Bride.

The film was nominated for the Foreign Language Oscar at this year's awards and was recently shown at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.

It is about a man who has a crisis as he lives in the shadow of his father.
He feels guilty for not regularly visiting his ageing mother or spending time with his daughter, who now lives with his ex-wife, and cannot make a commitment to his girlfriend.

A minor heart attack leads to a reunion with a childhood friend, who helps the man deal with his past and move forward.

An English-language script has yet to be written, though Sandler is expected to be involved in writing the new version.
