Jennifer Aniston - I'm More Than Just Friends

Good Girl, The (2002) star Jennifer Aniston claims to have a lot more to offer than the role that she has become synonymous with, the upbeat Rachel Green from TV comedy Friends.

In her new film which was premiered in January at the Sundance Film Festival, she plays the role of a down-trodden wife living in rural Texas who has an affair which leads to more unhappiness.

In an interview with the New York's Daily News, director Miguel Arteta said, "I told her there'd be no makeup, her hair would be dirty and it would be intense from the start."

Aniston is keen to get away from her Friends background which she is however grateful for, "Playing Rachel can become a kind of thorn in your side. Because sometimes people just identify you with that character, so it's hard for them to buy something else." On the film she comments, "The idea that someone else is going to be your savior, that just isn't gonna work. We all come in alone, and we're going out alone. As long as you have someone to sit and enjoy the ride with."

Good Girl, The (2002) is showing in cinemas from this week.
