Spider-Man Fan Climbs Skyscraper

It seems as if Tobey Maguire may have some competition when it comes to climbing buildings. Frenchman Alain Robert successfully scaled the 490-foot Franklin Tower in Paris on Tuesday morning to the astonishment of onlookers.

Wearing a blue and red Spider-Man style suit the Frenchman managed to free climb to the top of the building early in the morning, taking about half an hour to complete the mission.

Previous conquests for the daredevil include The Eiffel Tower, New York's Empire State Building and San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge.

Robert told reporters. "I can tell you that I share the same kind of philosophy as Spider-Man, if a comic-book character can be said to have a philosophy."
