Author J.K Rowling has confirmed that beloved kids' character Harry Potter will end after the seventh book.
Boy wizard Harry and his pals Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley were immortalised last year (2001) in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001), the first film in a projected series.
But despite the character's massive international stardom, writer JK plans to let him go and try her hand at adult fiction, even though she has a cabinet full of notes that could be turned into future Potter yarns.
She says, "It is possible that I will finish Harry and go over to the filing cabinet where the notes are and think they're rubbish. "
