Cruise's Hasty Plane Paint Job Lands Him In Trouble

TOM CRUISE has landed himself in trouble with aviation authorities - for expunging his ex-wife NICOLE KIDMAN's initials from his airplane prematurely.

The star changed the tail number of his Gulfstream 4 private jet from N55KC - which stood for 'Kidman Cruise' - to N808T for Tom. But Cruise's cosmetic changes were undertaken without government approval, according to an official at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)'s aircraft registry in Oklahoma.

They say, "He has petitioned for a change but should not have repainted the tail with that new number until we gave the approval. The number has not been officially assigned to the aircraft yet. " (CPT/WNTEX/MCM)
