Gere, Zeta Jones And Zellweger Line Up For Chicago Movie

RICHARD GERE will join CATHERINE ZETA JONES and Renée Zellweger in a film version of hit musical CHICAGO. The PRETTY WOMAN (1990) star is set to play BILLY FLYNN, a good-looking but sleazy lawyer who defends two accused murderesses in the northern American city in the 1920s.

ZETA JONES and ZELLWEGER beat off competition from several other well-known Hollywood actresses to win the roles of defendants VELMA and ROXIE. And between them the group have plenty of experience to bring to the parts - Gere already has experience of musicals, having sung in an early production of GREASE in London's West End, while ZETA JONES made an early bid for stardom with a fledgling pop career.
