Madonna In Trouble With Animal Protesters

MADONNA and husband GUY RITCHIE have a tough moral decision to make - will they let local fox hunters continue to hunt across their new country estate? The MATERIAL GIRL and her director husband are set to move into their new $11. 7(£9 million) English estate on the Wiltshire and Dorset border, but local fox hunt THE PORTMAN will be expecting the famous couple to continue to let them hunt on their land.

The hunt has always had free reign of the 1,000-acre estate which used to belong to photographer CECIL BEATON. But THE LEAGUE AGAINST CRUEL SPORTS have already pleaded with the EVITA star to ban the hunt from her land. A League spokesman says,

"We want to bring to Madonna's attention the brutal reality of hunting with hounds. We want her to consider what her support for fox-hunting would mean. We think it would be an appropriate gesture for her to turn down any request to hunt on her land. "

Madonna's second husband Guy is a known country sports enthusiast, so the debate could spark marital tensions. The Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels (1998) director has already been told off by PEOPLE FOR THE ETHICAL TREATMENT OF ANIMALS (PETA) after he went wild-boar hunting in Florida - PETA suggested the SNATCH (1999) director swam with sharks instead of picking on a "small vegetarian animal".
