Movie veteran CLIFF ROBERTSON was flying his twin-propeller plane over the TWIN TOWERS just after the first was hit in a terrorist attack. The CHARLY actor saw the smoke spiralling from the giant skyscrapers and then received a terse message from air traffic control. The OSCAR winner recalls,

"They said, `Land your plane immediately, this is an emergency. 'I landed it, cracked open the door and stormed up to this guy demanding to know what was going on. He said, 'The Twin Towers have been hit. ' I couldn't believe it. " (KL/WNV/ES)
