TOM CRUISE is threatening to sue a website which mocked his partnership with lover Penélope Cruz. The online version of America's MODERN HUMORIST mag suggested the pairing was a publicity stunt concocted by the PMK PR agency, which counts both actors as its clients.

It posted a fake "relationship contract", CLAUSE 2, which reads, "TC and PC will maintain relationship until such time as PMK determines the optimum public-relations value has been realised, ie TC's masculinity is reaffirmed and PC's salary per film is increased to $4 million (£3 million) and/or PC receives an OSCAR nomination. "

But Cruise doesn't think the joke is particularly funny. A spokeswoman for the star says, "I don't think this is good, clean fun. It comes from someone with a sick sense of humour. " (BRC/H/KW)
