KEANU REEVES' new baseball movie HARDBALL (2001) has bounced to the top of the American box office chart. The flick grossed an estimated $10. 1 million (£7. 76 million) in its first three days of release.
A spokeswoman estimated the film could have made between $12 million (£9. 23 million) and $15 million (£11. 53 million) if it had not been for the country's recent terrorists attacks. Another new release,
GLASS HOUSE, The (2001), smashed in at the number two spot making $6. 1 million (£4. 69 million) in its first weekend (begs15SEP01). Last weekend's chart topper, MUSKETEER, The (2001), slipped to number three with $5. 3 million (£4 million). (RP/WNWCYA)
