More than 25,000 commemorative HARRY POTTER coins have sold in under five hours. The coins, made by POBJOY MINT, and the first film-related coins to be sold in Britain, went on sale on Wednesday morning(05SEP01) at 11am, as publicity for the release of HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE (2001) gets into gear.

The silver coins, which show an image of Harry casting a magic spell, are only legal tender in the Isle of Man where they have a value of about 32 cents (25 pence). (LE/WNWCAN/IG)
