TARA REID will testify in court this week (begs27AUG01) that she was partying with ELIZABETH GRUBMAN the night the publicist allegedly ploughed her MERCEDES sport utility vehicle into clubgoers.

The actress's lawyer says that his client didn't see Grubman drinking or doing illegal drugs in the hours before Grubman allegedly backed into the crowd, injuring 16 people on 8 July 2001.

He says, "She didn't see her drinking or doing any drugs. Tara was hungry, so she was eating in the kitchen most of the time. "

Bouncer SCOTT CONLON, who was hit by the car, claims in a lawsuit that Grubman had been drinking and using illegal drugs before the incident. Grubman, whose clients include pop teen BRITNEY SPEARS and rapper JAY-Z, was charged with assault and leaving the scene of an accident. Reid will testify this week before a grand jury.
