PIERCE BROSNAN's licence to kill will definitely be renewed: the actor has been confirmed to reprise to his role as JAMES BOND. EON PRODUCTIONS, which makes the 007 films, has denied reports that it was looking to replace Brosnan in the role.

A report in the British press this week (beg27AUG01) says Scottish actor GERARD BUTLER had been promised the role when Brosnan gave it up. Brosnan has starred in three Bond films, most recently World Is Not Enough, The (1999). The title of the next film, due to start production early next year (02), has not been announced. (RGS/LA/NFA)
