Actor BILLY BOB THORNTON is set to make his musical debut on his album LOST HIGHWAY with the release of PRIVATE RADIO next month (SEP01). Eccentric Thornton, who is married to screen siren ANGELINA JOLIE, says music has always been his passion - in fact, he started his first band when he was just nine years old.

He says, "What I do best is tell stories and create characters. In these songs, there are all kinds of people strung over all different kinds of music. People I have worked with have said they're impressed with my voice as both a storyteller and a singer, and I think that's why. So I wanted to find a label that got the music rather than wanted to sign a movie star. "

He adds, "When Angelina and I got together a few years ago, I was really happy with my life, and I was ready to start thinking about music again. " (RGS/HR/RP)
