JACKIE CHAN can kick butt in his movies but he never attacks people in real life - because of the horrific physical abuse he suffered as a child.
The Hong Kong-born RUSH HOUR (1998) star was a frail six-year-old when his impoverished parents sent him to live and study music, drama, acrobatics and marital arts at the Peking Opera School. He reveals,
"I was beaten almost every day. I never forgot how it felt. The first three days were fun, then I received my first beating for dropping rice on the floor. The teacher caned me. I love action, not violence, I don't want children to think that it's OK to beat someone up. " (SVD/TS/MCM)
