Not content with acting, and singing in a band, movie hunk RUSSELL CROWE has decided to turn his attention to directing. The GLADIATOR (2000) star will not only be directing epic World War II drama THE LONG GREEN SHORE, he intends to write and produce it as well.

The movie, based on the book by the late JOHN HEPWORTH, tells the story an Australian regiment whose mission is to repel the remnants of Japanese forces from the island of Papua New Guinea during the last days of World War II. (RP/WNWE)
