SHARON STONE is cheering herself up after her BASIC INSTINCT (1992) sequel was abandoned by signing up to star in a raunchy erotic thriller with DAVID DUCHOVNY.

The sexy actress, 43, who is suing for $15 million (£10. 8 million) after the long-planned BASIC INSTINCT 2 was dropped at the last minute, will play Duchovny's cheating wife in the movie IN THE LAKE. HANNIBAL (2001) star RAY LIOTTA will star as Stone's extra-marital lover in the movie which is being directed by ENTRAPMENT (1999) director JON AMIEL. (LE/WNWCTT/PDD)
