Hollywood legend MICHAEL DOUGLAS was so worried about looking old that he had plastic surgery in preparation for his wedding to ENTRAPMENT star CATHERINE ZETA JONES.

According to friends, the 55-year-old actor has undergone a jowl reduction by liposuction and a mini lift by Beverly Hills plastic surgeon RICHARD ELLENBOGEN.

A friend of the FATAL ATTRACTION star says, "He felt he was getting a bit too jowly and wanted to reduce the sagging area around his jawline and throat area. "Being with someone as beautiful as Catherine inspires him to be the best he can be. He expects the same thing in return from her." Following her pregnancy Catherine intends to lose weight in time for her wedding on 18 November (00).

The friend adds, "Catherine's main areas of weight gain were her tummy, as well as her thighs, buttocks and arms. "She absolutely hates her arms and her gown is sleeveless so she wants everything flawless come the wedding."
