Bollywood Goes Mainstream

The Indian film industry has finally cracked the British mainstream market - with a movie about cricket and tax. The industry - dubbed BOLLYWOOD - has until now struggled to appeal to audiences outside the Indian community in Britain.

But LAGAAN (2001), has been packing out cinema's across the country. The film features 15 British actors, and revolves around a cricket match between soldiers and a group of villagers in 1893. (IG/WNBIN/ES)
