Hollywood sweethearts JENNIFER ANISTON and BRAD PITT are suing an Italian jewellers for breach of contract. The couple claim that SILVIA DAMIANI and DAMIANI INTERNATIONAL, who designed their wedding rings for their marriage last year (00), broke an agreement that the designs used would never be replicated.
Attorney JOHN H. LAVELY JR filed a suit yesterday (18JUL01) claiming not only that the rings were replicated, but that they were also offered for sale on the internet and in jewellery stores in America.
The pair are seeking an injunction to stop the sale of Damiani rings made of two concentric bands in 18 karat white or yellow gold connected by 12 or 13 diamonds, which according to the couple are identical to their own.
The lawsuit says, "Damiani essentially made Pitt and Aniston serve as its unwilling shills, hawking its jewellery to potential customers. " (ES/WNWCRV/KW)
