LATEST: TOM CRUISE is escaping media scrutiny since announcing his relationship with Penélope Cruz - by escaping to Fiji for an entire month.

The TOP GUN (1986) star is enjoying a sun-soaked holiday on the Pacific Island hideaway, his estranged wife NICOLE KIDMAN left a few days ago (JUL01). It is believed the American actor has booked the luxury Fijian resort Wakaya Island exclusively for a month and is with the couple's two children, ISABELLA, 8, and CONNOR, 6.

A FIJI VISITORS BUREAU spokesman confirmed yesterday Cruise was on the island. The spokesman said, "I can state categorically he is on Wakaya Island with his entourage and his children."

"They are the only ones on the island and they have booked the resort exclusively. " Cruise arrived in his private jet last week at Nausori Airport, before going to Wakaya Island to meet his children.
