Movie star MELANIE GRIFFITHs is set to tell all about her drug and alcohol hell, which has twice led her to seek rehabilitation.

The actress will appear on Sunday's (15JUL01) INSIDE THE ACTOR'S STUDIO to talk about her career and her personal life, and show intimate family photos. Ironically, the show was recorded last November (00), just 10 days after the WORKING GIRL (1988) star left the DANIEL FREEMAN HOSPITAL in Los Angeles, where she went to ween herself off prescription painkillers.

She says, "It's not something that you choose, it's genetic and it's really strong. You just can't get enough. Your own will cannot stop it. " Griffith admits her drug dependency has been a long-term thing - dating back to her teenage years.

She adds, "In my youth I used alcohol and cocaine in order to cover up the pain I felt, the emptiness inside that you don't know how to fill. " Griffith's husband ANTONIO BANDERAS will also appear in the revered, indepth acting discussion show on August 5 (01). (KL/WNV/RP)
