Hollywood star MATTHEW McCONAUGHEY has just finished filming his latest movie in Ireland.

The EDTV star played dragon slayer VAN ZAM in REIGN OF FIRE (2001) - and had to do some tough training for the role.

The Texan, took up boxing at Dublin's Capel Street Olympus gym, and visited St Patrick's Institute for young offenders for special training sessions. (IG/IS/KMW)
