Palin's Prison Performance

British funnyman MICHAEL PALIN is set to raise a smile with a one-man West End show for prisoners' families.

The MONTY PYTHON star has been a backer of the FEDERATION OF PRISONERS' FAMILIES SUPPORT GROUPS for several years after becoming interested when he visited FELTHAM youth prison in London. The charity's director, LUCY GAMPELL says, "He said he was interested because he considered us to be a more unpopular cause which is very difficult to raise money for."

Palin agreed to the show at the DUKE OF YORK'S THEATRE on 12 November (00) free of charge. Palin says, "Looking after the families of those in prison is not glamorous, it is really essential."
