Paula Yates Found Dead


From WENN correspondents CAROLINE BLIGHT and CHRIS TAYLOR in London TV personality PAULA YATES has been found dead at her London home.

Yates, once married to SIR BOB GELDOF and the lover of MICHAEL HUTCHENCE, was found by police officers at 10.30am this morning (17SEPT00). Officers were called to an address in St Luke's Mews, Notting Hill, west London by an ambulance crew.

In a statement SCOTLAND YARD says, "The body was found in a bedroom and the cause of death will not be known until the post mortem." The post morton is expected to be carried out later today. A forensic medical examiner at the scene confirmed the woman was dead at 11.30 am. Sir Geldof, with whom Paula had three daughters, FIFI TRIXIBELLE, 17, PEACHES HONEYBLOSSOM, 10 and PIXIE, 7 has released a statement asking the press respect his children's privacy. In the statement he says, "The loss to all the children is insupportable."

Her friend and lawyer MARK STEVENS says, "My heart goes out to her four children - whatever the circumstances of her death. Her life was lead by strong emotion and her life was full of highs and lows with her kids being her greatest high. "The action by the Hutchence family recently over her daughter TIGER LILY was certainly a blow."

The police say they are currently treating the death as suspicious.
