DOGMA (1999) star SALMA HAYEK has been attacked by a monkey on the set of her latest movie.

The Mexican beauty suffered nerve and ligament damage when the capuchin monkey playing her on-screen pet turned on her. Salma was in Mexico filming biopic FRIDA (2001) about artist FRIDA KAHLO, when the animal lost its temper.

She says, "I got attacked by the monkey. It went for my face but got my hands, arms and fingers. I'm marked for life but luckily they have little teeth. Even so the bites were extremely painful. " (KAB/WNSSP/ES)
