ANGELINA JOLIE has become a gay icon after being mobbed by scores of lesbian fans at the Hollywood premiere of TOMB RAIDER (2001).

Amorous females lined the streets of Westwood, Los Angeles, with placards reading "Marry me Angelina" and "I love you Angelina - you're girlpower" to welcome the shapely actress as she stepped out of her limo.

Some fans had travelled from as far away as Texas to queue from 6am (PST) just so they'd be first in line to see the movie star who has admitted to having had sexual relationships with women in the past. And Jolie didn't let them down.

The OSCAR-winning beauty greeted all her fans, hugging several of them and allowing herself to be smooched on the cheeks by her ardent admirers. Absent from the fun was Jolie's husband BILLY BOB THORNTON, who was away filming, but as usual she wore a vial of his blood around her neck which they both wear as a symbol of their love.
