Classic Movie One-Liners Unveiled

"The name's Bond, JAMES BOND" - not only the secret agent's calling card, but now Britain's most memorable movie one-liner of all time. 007's classic catchphrase topped a British poll among cinemagoers asked to name the best big screen lines.

Bond's immortal uttering beat off ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER's "I'll Be Back", TOM CRUISE's "Show Me The Money", JACK NICHOLSON screaming "Here's Johnny" and MARLON BRANDO's "I COULD'VE BEEN A CONTENDER" to pole position.

Over 2,000 movie-goers were polled across the UK's local cinemas and multiplexes to establish the most memorable catchphrases.

Mostly modern films featured in the top 20 - but there were several classics, including CASABLANCA (1942), LAUREL AND HARDY's WAY OUT WEST (1937) and 1933's SHE DONE HIM WRONG (1933), starring MAE WEST.

While 99 per cent of the catchphrases were remembered word for word, viewers had a problem recollecting HUMPHREY BOGART's line to his piano player in Casablanca (1942). Most remember the number three all time favourite as "Play It Again Sam," when in fact Bogie delivered the lines "You played it for her, you can play for me, play it Sam!"
