JAMES BOND star PIERCE BROSNAN is to be honoured for his charity work at a glittering awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

The 007 actor has worked for cancer and environmental charities since his wife CASSIE died from cancer ten years ago (91).

Brosnan is London patron of GILDA'S CLUB, a cancer charity set up by actor GENE WILDER in memory of his late wife GILDA RADNER.

Pierce is also working behind the scenes with his fiancee KEELY SHAYE-SMITH for several green charities in both Europe and America. Pierce and Keely will get the HUMANITARIAN CRYSTAL AWARD at the Women in Film 25th annual awards ceremony next month (JUN01). (RXT/ISM/ES)
