TOM HANKS has beaten TOM CRUISE into the top ten of PREMIERE magazine's POWER LIST 2001. OSCAR-winner Hanks claimed 10th place in the list of Hollywood hotshots, followed by the JERRY MAGUIRE (1996) hunk in the 11th spot. At the very top of the chart was VIACOM president SUMMER REDSTONE, 77, who also owns PARAMOUNT STUDIOS, MTV, NICKELODEON and the CBS network - the combined intake of which have secured the mogul a personal fortune of over $6 billion. GERALD LEVIN, owner of AOL TIME WARNER, is placed second, ahead of film-maker STEVEN SPIELBERG, who nabs sixth place. STAR WARS (1977) maker GEORGE LUCAS comes in at 18th. Tinseltown actors meanwhile, hold their own in the list - JULIA ROBERTS grabs 12th place, followed by MEL GIBSON in 13th. (AW/WNSEX/KW)
