Catherine Deneuve Comforts Bjork On Movie Set

When BJORK and Danish director LARS VON TRIER fought on the set of their flick - DANCER IN THE DARK - it was co-star CATHERINE DENEUVE who acted as peace maker.

Bjork and Von Trier teamed up for the HUMAN BEHAVIOUR singer's acting debut in the PALME D'OR-winning movie, DANCER IN THE DARK, and the wacky Dane has admitted to a massive power struggle between them.

And, while co-star Deneuve understood why the pair were fighting, she admits it wasn't always easy.

Deneuve says, "It was hard for me because I couldn't get to what she was feeling. She wasn't a princess it was just difficult for her personally.

"
I told her that what she felt was normal - normal for what we were doing in the film. When we had finished I told her that it wasn't always like this and it was the first time for me too. But even if she understood that it didn't change her feelings."

Deneuve adds, "
One great thing about Von Trier and Bjork is that they were honest. They didn't pretend."
