NICOLAS CAGE takes his acting seriously - but not as seriously as Renée ZELLWEGER.
The CAPTAIN CORELLI'S MANDOLIN (2001) star is set to take the lead in acclaimed BEING JOHN MALKOVICH (1999) director SPIKE JONZE's new feature, ADAPTATION (2001).
Cage will be playing the KAUFMAN brothers, "two overweight, sexually frustrated twins". And although the actor is generally known for his meticulous method - he learned to play the mandolin for his latest film - he will not be following in the footsteps of lovely Renee, who piled on the pounds to play a chubby singelton in BRIDGET JONES'S DIARY (2001).
Instead he'll be putting on a prosthetic fat suit to play the densely-packed duo, claiming, "I didn't think it would be healthy to destroy myself physically." (NFA/WNWCEM/KMW)
