MGM has bought the film rights to a new novel about a hostage negotiator - with BRUCE WILLIS as the intended star.
HOSTAGE, written by ROBERT CRAIS, is not due to be published until later in the year (01). But MGM has already bought the rights to the book for Willis's production company, with the expectation that he will have the option to take on the lead role in the movie.
Hostage tells the story of a former hostage negotiator who finds himself back on the job when three small-time crooks on the run from authorities hole up in an affluent neighbourhood, and unwittingly take a mob accountant hostage. (KW/WNWCAN/ES)
