MICHAEL DOUGLAS and his wife CATHERINE ZETA JONES are to come face to face on screen for the first time.
The movie star couple, who shared no scenes in the Oscar- winning movie TRAFFIC (2000), has signed up for SMOKE AND MIRRORS (2002) - about the 19th century French illusionist ROBERT HOUDIN.
Zeta Jones and Douglas, who have a baby son DYLAN, are making sure their first co-starring venture is a family project - the movie is being produced by Michael's older brother JOEL and, financed by Joel's fiance's brother's company INITIAL ENTERTAINMENT GROUP and co-produced by Catherine's brother DAVID JONES.
Catherine and Michael are also hoping Michael's father, screen legend KIRK DOUGLAS will play a sultan in the movie. (LE/DV/ES)
